We all want our kids to feel safe. But are they?

Felt Safety

What a difference (almost 4 weeks!) have made!

It has not been easy, but so worth it.

Our new littles are starting to feel safe and are beginning to enjoy life again! Josh even has them giggling before bed instead of the screams from the first week. They know they are loved, they know they will be cared for, and they are starting to be happy and let go!

But, why is it worth it?

I can’t help but think how that is comparable to our relationship with God.

When we feel safe and secure in who we are and whose we are, we can let go. We know that we will be taken care of so we don’t worry about things.

The first few nights our new littles were here they were not sure of anything. (See Josh’s post “Mommy Left!“) They had no idea if we would harm them, if we would feed them, if we would love them.

But, after consistently meeting their needs and showing our love they began to trust.

The truth is…

We still have to work to build that trust daily but we are making progress! Just as they are letting go, we can do the same with God.

He is consistent,
He never changes, and
He always meets our needs.
He is faithful,
He is true, and
we can always trust Him, … no matter what!

Philippians 1:6 reminds us that, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

So, let go of your worry, your fear, your anxiety and focus on God. He will never let you down.

We may mess up with these kids sometimes — I’m sure we already have! But, God never messes up. He never makes a mistake. He is all we ever need!
