Ministering to those who walk away from God
So, one of the last full episodes that we did here on this podcast (Episode 31), Jason (from the podcast Genesis to John the Revelator) & Chris (from the Uncategorised Christian Podcast in the United Kingdom) joined us as we talked about how we as The Church can reach the de-churched individuals in our community.
Ministering to those hurt by the church
You know them —maybe you are one: Someone who left the church for some reason. Maybe you lost interested, or even were hurt by someone in the church.
Let me say that I am sorry…. Sorry if you were one of the one hurt in the wake of maybe an inconsiderate person, or maybe someone who just didn’t know what they were saying. Maybe you just felt personally hurt shunned by God Himself… Wherever you’ve found yourself, and while I know it might be hard, please give the church another chance — even if it’s in a new church environment or different denomination than you were in before.
Today’s conversation is not too different than the one before.
We are speaking with Brooke and Court, a couple who were at one point in their life serving God, but along they way, left the church and tried it their own way. Through children, life … and marriages that didn’t work out as they planned… when they found each other they were still trying to do it without God, and in their own strength.
Sound familiar? Yeah, we’ve all been guilty of trying to do it on our own at times.
Fear, rejection, divorce, unwise decisions and pain — Life was a struggle for Brooke and Court. ” ‘It hasn’t worked your way God, I’m going to try it my own way,’ and I walked away from Christ for two years.” Struggling to make it work, they broke off their engagement — and then God stepped in. As the Lord moved in their life, they took the 40 days to get their hearts right — And then God asked them to do something crazy… Listen to this episode of PROJECT: Faith Journey to hear the amazing things that God has done in their lives. There is hope beyond life’s despair.
This is their story and — part one — of their journey to finding wholeness in Christ as their families joined to become one, new, blended family.
Bonus: This month you can read Brooke and Court’s testimony on HopeForTheHeart.org.
